SemiExpert joins UWB Rules! Alliance

SemiExpert announced today that it has joined the UWB Rules! Alliance. The Alliance is an industry association that promotes the creation of a next generation standard for UWB technology. The UWB Rules! Alliance has 45 members, including Microsoft, AMD, IBM, Tzero and FaceBook.

The UWB Rules! Alliance plans to deliver a 10 Gbps specification in September 2008, and expects that products based on this technology will be available in the market shortly thereafter.

Semiexpert announces general availability of Kangaroo chipset

SemiExpert has announced availability of its Kangaroo UWB chipset for the consumer market. Kangaroo provides a maximum data rate of 2 Gbps and is specifically targeted for long-distance HD video distribution. Products designed for room-to-room streaming will benefit from the extremely low cost of Kangaroo, which offers full interoperability with SemiExpert’s highly successful Monkey chipset.

Kangaroo samples will be available to customers during 3Q2008 and will be shipping in volume during 4Q2008.

2008 Product Catalog Released

A new version of the SemiExpert Product Catalog has been released, with updated information on UWB chipsets, software and reference designs.
